PocketWebTools for Mac
Mac app that runs open AI models up to 35B parameters offline for chat, transcription, OCR, upscaling and video clipping.
What PocketWebTools for Mac does
PocketWebTools for Mac is a desktop app that runs open AI models locally on Apple Silicon Macs. It handles chat, summarizing and rewriting with models up to 35B parameters, and it needs no account. Version 1.0.0 went on sale on October 9, 2026, according to the changelog.
Chat is one part of the app. It also transcribes files, the microphone and the audio the Mac is playing, with speaker labels for up to four speakers. It upscales photos at full resolution, including HEIC and RAW, and turns PDFs and scans into markdown with tables or a searchable PDF. Other tools remove backgrounds, cut long videos into captioned 9:16 clips, and edit a video by deleting words from its transcript. Text to speech covers ten languages and can clone a voice from a few seconds of audio.
The app runs llama.cpp and transcribe.cpp on Metal with the whole model on the GPU. The model lineup includes Qwen3.8 27B and Qwen3.6 35B-A3B, and models download one at a time and stay on disk until you delete them. The same developer offers free browser versions of many tools at pocketweb.tools; the Mac app exists for models too large for a browser tab.
It suits Mac users who want offline transcription, document extraction and local chat without a subscription. It requires an M1 or later Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with 8 GB of memory as the minimum and 32 GB for the 27B flagship model. Intel Macs are not supported.
