Internal communications writer

Helps Claude write internal communications such as status reports, leadership updates, 3P updates, newsletters, FAQs, incident reports and project updates in a company's preferred formats.

Agent skillAgent skills

What Internal communications writer does

The skill is a short router with four guideline files behind it. The agent first works out what kind of message the request calls for, then opens the matching file in examples/: one for 3P updates (Progress, Plans, Problems), one for company newsletters, one for FAQ answers and a general file for everything else. It follows that file's rules on format, tone and where to find material. When a request fits none of them, the agent is told to ask the user which format they want.

The guides are specific. A 3P update starts with an emoji, the team name and the dates, then gives Progress, Plans and Problems one to three sentences each, short enough to read in 30 to 60 seconds, with metrics where possible. The newsletter guide asks for roughly 20 to 25 bullets in the "we" voice, grouped into sections. FAQ entries pair a question with a one- or two-sentence answer drawn from official company communications, and say so plainly when the answer is uncertain. For anything else, the agent settles audience, purpose, tone and format before drafting.

Several guides tell the agent to pull material from Slack, Google Drive, email and calendar when it has access, and to ask the user for the content when it does not. What you get is a draft message in the chosen format. The folder itself holds only Markdown.

Read the security check below before you run it. The repository's own instructions win if they differ.

Security check

What the skill's files do, from reading them. A flag that nobody has checked yet says "Not checked", never "No".

Runs scripts
No
Uses the network
No
Installs hooks
No
Asks for secrets
No

The scan found no scripts, hook definitions, network calls or secret variables. The folder holds SKILL.md, a licence and four Markdown guides, so nothing in it runs on its own. The guides do tell the agent to read Slack, Google Drive, email and calendar when it has access, so any workplace connectors you have already given your agent may be used to gather messages and documents. Before installing, read the four guide files and check which workplace tools your agent can reach.

Scan details: No scripts, hook definitions, network calls or secret variables were found in the skill folder. Checked at commit 8a1541c4a3ff.

Use cases

  • Draft a weekly 3P update for a team from the past week's activity.
  • Assemble a company newsletter from busy Slack threads, emails and large meetings.
  • Answer common employee questions in a short question-and-answer format.
  • Write a one-off announcement once audience, purpose and tone are settled.

Limitations

  • Gathering from Slack, Drive, email or calendar needs those tools connected; otherwise it asks you.
  • Status reports, leadership updates and incident reports have no dedicated guide of their own.
  • Its formats reflect the conventions of the company the guide files were written for.
  • The repository presents its skills as demonstration material and advises testing before relying on them.
