AgentDock
A Mac app that shows Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents as status dots and lets you answer them from one Inbox.
What AgentDock does
AgentDock is a Mac app for developers who run several coding agents at once, such as Claude Code and Codex. Each agent appears as a dot on the edge of the screen. The dot is blue while the agent works, amber when it needs input and green when it has finished.
Questions and permission prompts from every agent collect in one Inbox, where a keystroke answers them. AgentDock then types the answer into the agent's terminal, with two seconds to undo. Pressing Option twice from any app opens a box for sending a message to a chosen agent, picked by name or git branch. A hover card lists each agent's branch, model, turn timer and context, plus the tokens used today. On macOS 26 and later, Apple Intelligence writes a recap of each finished turn on the device.
The vendor lists full support for cmux, tmux, iTerm, WezTerm, kitty and herdr. Ghostty, Terminal, Warp, Alacritty and editors such as VS Code, Cursor and Zed get status, with Claude Code questions passed through its hook. Turning on the iPhone setting serves a page from the Mac over your own Wi-Fi, so you can answer from Safari on the phone. A separate iPhone app is listed as coming soon.
The app needs macOS 15 or later and runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It suits people who keep many agent sessions open across terminals and repositories. According to its privacy policy, the app has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and it reads agent status from session files kept on the Mac.
- Seeing at a glance which of several coding agents is working, waiting or done
- Answering agent questions and permission prompts from one Inbox without switching windows
- Sending a message to a specific agent from any app with a double press of Option
- Checking each agent's git branch, model and token use for the day from a hover card
Who should use it
- Developers who run several Claude Code or Codex sessions in parallel on a Mac
- People who keep agents in cmux, tmux, iTerm, WezTerm, kitty or herdr
Who should look elsewhere
- Windows or Linux users, since the app is for macOS only
- Anyone running agents only in the cloud, such as Grok app bots, which the vendor says are not shown
Strengths
- One-time price with no subscription and no account
- Status and agent activity are read from local session files and stay on the Mac
- Works across many terminals, with the fullest support in cmux, tmux, iTerm, WezTerm, kitty and herdr
Limitations
- Requires macOS 15 or later, and recaps of finished work need macOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence
- In Ghostty, Terminal, Warp, Alacritty and editors, answering is limited to Claude Code questions passed through its hook
- Inbox answers, ⌥⌥ messages and the iPhone page stop working without a license once the trial ends
- The dedicated iPhone app is not released yet and is marked as coming soon
Privacy notes
The vendor's privacy policy says the app has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and keeps agent status, questions and messages on the Mac. License checks send the license key and a Mac label, and update checks read the release list from GitHub.
