Coding agents

AI that writes, reviews and ships code: coding agents, their permission and sandbox modes, and the skills and guides for working with them.

Coding agents are AI tools that read a codebase, edit files and run commands to complete programming tasks from a plain-language request. To start with coding agents, pick one agent from the tools listed here, such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot, and read its page before you add extensions.

Tool pages on this topic also cover desktop apps that run several agents side by side, remote sandboxes and phone or watch companions. Each card shows pricing labels and the date the listing was last verified. Open-source project pages cover add-ons that cut the tokens an agent spends, turn a repository into a queryable knowledge graph or push an agent to write less code. Skill pages list SKILL.md packages and say whether each one runs scripts, needs network access or asks for secrets.

The guides explain Claude Code hooks, writing a SKILL.md and connecting MCP servers safely. Videos are talks and short explainers, labeled with length and level. When two projects solve the same problem, compare the license, language and momentum shown on each card.
