Singularity
Desktop development environment that runs several AI coding agents in parallel, one ticket and one Git worktree each.
What Singularity does
Singularity is a desktop app for building software with AI coding agents. It puts a code editor, a terminal, Git tools and a Kanban board of tickets in one window, and its docs describe it as an IDE built on Electron. The site and docs are in French, and the team says the product is built in France.
Work is organized around tickets instead of an open-ended chat. You describe a feature, bug or refactor as a ticket, and an agent works on it in its own Git worktree with only the skills, conventions and files that ticket needs loaded into its context. You then inspect the changes and decide whether to merge them. Several agents can run at once across many repositories, and macOS notifications tell you when one finishes or fails.
Singularity drives existing coding agents rather than shipping its own model. The FAQ lists Claude (Anthropic), Codex (OpenAI), GitHub Copilot and Gemini (Google), and the docs say providers are connected through their command-line tools. Code, tickets and context stay on your machine; only the model calls leave it, using your own key.
The homepage also lists a DevOps profile: when CI fails, Singularity opens a repair ticket and restarts the deployment. In-app CI/CD tracking comes from the Pipelines plugin, which is part of the paid licence. The docs aim the app at developers and small teams who hand work to agents but want to keep review in their own hands.
- Running several coding agents at once on separate features or bugs, each in its own Git worktree
- Reviewing an agent's changes before merging them
- Coordinating agent work across many repositories from one workspace
- Tracking CI/CD pipelines and opening repair tickets when builds fail (Pipelines plugin, paid)
Who should use it
- Developers and small teams already using Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot or Gemini who want to run several agents in parallel
- People who prefer small, scoped tickets to long chat sessions with an agent
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who wants a bundled AI model: you bring your own provider access
- Teams that want a browser-based or cloud-hosted editor, since Singularity is a desktop app
Strengths
- The core app is free with unlimited agents, projects and worktrees
- Each ticket runs in an isolated Git worktree with a narrow context
- Works with four agent providers: Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot and Gemini
- Code, tickets and context stay on your machine
Limitations
- In-app CI/CD tracking requires the paid Singularity Licence (€24 per month per workstation)
- You need your own access to a supported model provider
- The website and documentation are in French
- The official pages do not mention a public API or an open-source licence
Privacy notes
The vendor says code, tickets and context stay on your machine and only LLM API calls leave it, using your own key. The docs say the app stores its data in a local SQLite database.
